Michigan Forest Management Guidelines (aka the "Greenbook")
From the Michigan Society of American Foresters

This YouTube video series "BeLeaf It or Not!" targets classroom grades four through seven with a light-hearted examination of forests and forest industry.  It's a product of MSU Extension and the forestry community.  The first episodes were posted in May 2019.  Additional episodes will be posted, as they are produced, through 2020.

Michigan Forests Flyer
Revised 2012

The purpose of this website, and among participating organizations, is to promote science-based forestry and resource conservation.   Through the sharing of information and education events, we hope to reach two primary goals:

1. Provide clearer understanding among all groups about forest and forestry education resources and opportunities.

2. Reduce inefficiencies and duplication in our educational programs to relieve the strain all non-profit groups are feeling in their budgets.

We hope that you can find your way to the information that you seek.  If not, please let us know how we might provide additional avenues of inquiry. Keep in mind that this website is not designed to include the wealth of information, program information, and other materials that are provided for by others.  Rather, we hope this website might serve as a directory of information for just about all people interested in forests and forestry. If you wish to speak to a forester, you can try retired extension forester/biologist Bill Cook at cookwi@msu.edu.
